StoryFirefly terms.

These terms explain the ground rules for adult-managed accounts, family story creation, generated content, purchases, and custom book fulfillment.

Last updatedJuly 27, 2026
01 · Adult managed

Grown-ups hold the account.

A parent, guardian, or other authorized adult is responsible for the account and for deciding what information is shared.

02 · Create responsibly

Bring stories, not sensitive details.

Only upload content you are authorized to use, and keep unnecessary personal information out of prompts and photos.

03 · Review before sharing

AI output needs an adult eye.

Generated words and images can be surprising or imperfect. An adult should review every story before giving it to a child.

01 · Agreement

When these terms apply

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the StoryFirefly websites, applications, story-creation tools, generated content, checkout, and related services (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account, clicking to accept these Terms, or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service for an organization or another person, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for them.

Our Privacy Notice explains how information is handled. Additional terms shown at checkout or for a particular feature also apply to that transaction or feature.

02 · Families

Adults manage the experience

You must be at least 18 years old—or the age of legal majority where you live—to create and manage a StoryFirefly account. The Service is designed for a parent, legal guardian, or other authorized adult to guide story creation.

Children under 13 in the United States must not create accounts or submit personal information directly. If you provide information about a child, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or that you otherwise have the authority and permissions required to provide it and request the related processing.

Share only what the story needs.

Do not include a child’s address, school, precise location, government identifier, health information, or other sensitive details unless a feature clearly requires it and explains why.

03 · Accounts

Keep account details accurate and secure

You agree to provide accurate account and order information, keep it current, protect your sign-in credentials, and promptly tell us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

Do not sell, transfer, or share account access in a way that compromises a child’s information, another person’s rights, or the security of the Service.

04 · Content

Your inputs and generated stories

Content you provide

“Your Content” includes prompts, names, character details, photos, preferences, feedback, and other material you submit. As between you and StoryFirefly, you retain any rights you have in Your Content. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for StoryFirefly and its service providers to process it as described in these Terms and the Privacy Notice.

You grant StoryFirefly a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, adapt, transmit, and otherwise process Your Content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and fulfill the Service; follow your instructions; enforce these Terms; and comply with law. This license ends when the content is deleted from our systems, except for limited retained copies permitted by the Privacy Notice or required by law.

Generated output

The Service uses automated systems to create text and images from your choices and Your Content. Output may be inaccurate, unexpected, incomplete, or similar to content generated for others. We do not promise that output is unique or eligible for intellectual-property protection.

Subject to these Terms, applicable law, and the rights of others, you may use the story output delivered to you for personal, non-commercial family use. You are responsible for reviewing output before using or sharing it and for making sure that your use does not violate another person’s rights.

StoryFirefly materials

StoryFirefly and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, including its software, design, templates, branding, and other materials that are not Your Content or generated output. These Terms do not grant a right to use StoryFirefly names, logos, or technology outside the Service.

05 · Conduct

Use StoryFirefly responsibly

You may not use the Service to:

  • Create, upload, or distribute unlawful, abusive, exploitative, deceptive, hateful, or sexually explicit content, including any content that exploits or endangers a minor.
  • Violate another person’s privacy, publicity, intellectual property, or other rights, or impersonate someone without authorization.
  • Introduce malware, probe or disrupt security, overload the Service, evade safeguards, or gain unauthorized access to an account, system, or data.
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, resell, or commercially exploit the Service except where applicable law permits it or StoryFirefly gives written permission.
  • Misrepresent generated output as verified fact or use it to make medical, legal, financial, safety, or other high-impact decisions.

We may remove content or restrict activity when reasonably needed to protect children, users, StoryFirefly, service providers, or the public, or to comply with law.

06 · Purchases

Orders, payment, and fulfillment

Available products, prices, currency, taxes, shipping charges, and delivery options are shown before you authorize payment. Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. You authorize the displayed total and agree to provide accurate billing and delivery information.

Personalized books are made from your selections and may enter generation or printing soon after payment. Changes or cancellations may not be possible after production begins. Refund, replacement, and cancellation eligibility may depend on the order’s status, the issue involved, terms presented at checkout, and applicable law.

Screen colors, image placement, trim, and other physical details can vary slightly in a printed product. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. If a book arrives damaged, contains a production defect, or differs materially from the order you approved, contact us promptly with the order details so we can review available remedies.

We may decline or cancel an order before fulfillment because of a pricing or catalog error, suspected fraud, prohibited content, product unavailability, or a legal requirement. If we cancel a paid order for one of these reasons, we will provide an appropriate refund unless payment is withheld or restricted by law.

07 · Availability

The Service and third parties

We may add, change, pause, or discontinue features and may set reasonable limits to keep the Service secure and reliable. We do not guarantee that every feature, product, theme, provider, or delivery destination will always be available.

The Service relies on third parties for functions such as hosting, communications, automated generation, payments, printing, fulfillment, and delivery. Their services may be governed by their own terms and privacy notices. StoryFirefly is not responsible for third-party websites or services that it does not control.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create a safety or security risk, fail to pay an amount due, or if suspension is reasonably necessary to comply with law. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

08 · Legal limits

Disclaimers and limits on liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” StoryFirefly disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, particular creative results, or that generated output will be accurate, unique, or suitable for every child.

To the extent permitted by law, StoryFirefly will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the Service.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations. In those places, these provisions apply only to the maximum extent permitted. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

09 · Updates and contact

Changes, questions, and notices

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post the updated version here, change the “Last updated” date, and provide additional notice when required. Changes apply prospectively from the stated effective date.

If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including provisions about rights, payments, disclaimers, and liability—will survive.
